Large Nightmare Apostle ❘ 悪夢の使徒（大）	Strong Enemy

Description Giant spider-like enemy hanging from the web just inside the Mensis keep. It will remain in its web until you get too close or hit it with a ranged attack, allowing you to knock down some of the smaller Nightmare Apostles with Throwing Knives and thin their numbers before engaging it. It's too large to fit through either the keep entrance or the smaller doorway to the right, so you can trap it at either of these choke points and bombard it with ranged attacks from the other side. In close combat the Large Nightmare Apostle swings or jabs its long legs forward; while it can hit behind it with its Reverse Dark Sphere, it cannot strike directly to its sides. It has average physical defense, but is slightly weak against blunt attacks and cannot be interrupted or staggered; despite its spidery appearance it is susceptible to poison and is also affected by Shaman Bone Blades, six of which can be found on a corpse leaning against the far wall directly behind it. A Cannon shot, boosted with Bone Marrow Ash, can make dealing with this enemy much easier, and can decimate the smaller apostles if any of them wander into the area of effect. Strategy First, eliminate as many of the smaller ones as possible, by knocking them down one by one with Throwing Knives (the Monocular can help with this) and luring them into the entrance antechamber to fight When only the large apostle remains, climb the steps to the right of the entrance and eliminate the small apostles in the hall, then proceed through the doorway onto the bridge behind the large apostle. You can attack it a few times while it's still hanging in the web, so make the most of the opportunity and hit it with a Bone Marrow Ash Cannon shot. While it is possible to continue raining attacks down on the large apostle from the bridge, beware that it can still hit you there with its overhead leg stabs and the bridge itself will often obstruct your ranged weapons. If you plan to abuse the large apostle's size by getting it stuck in a doorway through which it can't fit, use the keep entrance -many of the apostle's attacks will pass over your head there From the relative safety of the antechamber, you can strike with ranged attacks; however, be sure you actually have enough ammunition to kill the apostle before taking up this position, since getting back into the keep with a giant spider occupying the entrance is a tricky proposition. Alternately, you can immediately head for the bridge while eliminating only the small apostles directly blocking your path, then drop down behind the large apostle and stab it with a Shaman Bone Blade as it descends from the web. This will turn all of the smaller apostles against it, almost certainly resulting in its death; it will usually take out a few of the smaller ones in the process, making this a highly effective strategy provided you make a swift exit immediately after stabbing the large apostle. Notes Preset Chalice Dungeons: None All enemies and bosses (except hunter enemies) have 999 frenzy resistance, despite that they are still vulnerable to such status. The only way to see it without modding is to use Shaman Bone Blade on enemy inflicting frenzy to attack others. Pungent Blood Cocktails don't attract this enemy, making the item ineffective. Shaman Bone Blades affect this enemy, making it hostile to other enemies.
