Labyrinth Watcher (Cleaver & Lantern) ❘ 遺跡の守り人	Regular Enemy

Description Labyrinth Watchers are simple enemies that you'll only encounter inside Chalice Dungeons, and since they are one of the more common foes you'll encounter there, learning how to deal with them effectively is very important. Many of the different Watchers have ranged attacks to compliment their melee weapons, so even though they're weak, you'll still need to approach them cautiously if they're aware of your presence. Cleaver carrying Watchers are capable of throwing Molotov Cocktails a considerable distance, while those carrying daggers tend to favor poison knives or urns that inflict a tremendous amount of slow poison build-up. If you see one holding a lantern you can take comfort in the fact that they don't have a ranged attack, but they can use their lantern to alert nearby enemies and make them come running to its aid, so taking them out quickly and quietly is of upmost importance. Outside of their weapons, the main difference you need to look out for is their attire. Watchers that have nothing on can be rolled into to knock them off balance giving you a small window to attack, those wearing clothes, however, will remain unaffected if you roll into them. Most types of Labyrinth Watcher can also be encountered through floor traps, that when stepped on summon a small group of them around you. Similarly, you'll often find that Bell Ringers summon these enemies, and during that time they are a lot more aggressive and will actively seek you out even if you are quite far away from the Bell Ringer; locate and kill the Bell Ringer to cause all of the Labyrinth Watchers under her control to die immediately. Strategy Depending on your loadout, their ability to draw other enemies towards them can actually be a very useful thing. With a weapon that has wide-arcing horizontal attacks, or ones with large areas of effect such as the Flamesprayer, let this Watcher call to the others and then take them all out in one fell swoop once they converge on you. If the room you're in is large, fall back to a room you've already cleared and funnel the group through the connecting passage to prevent them all from attacking you at once. Dealing with them on their own is still a safer option, however, and if that's the route you want to take it's best to try and sneak up on them and kill them before they can ring their lantern. They lack the long range threat of the normal cleaver wielding Watchers so you can approach without fear, and once you get close, they'll use the same easy to deal with cleaver attacks. Notes Preset Chalice Dungeons: Pthumerian Labyrinth, Central Pthumerian Labyrinth, Hintertomb, Lower Hintertomb, Lower Pthumerian Labyrinth, Cursed Pthumerian Defilement, Isz Gravestone. Despite official guide lists this enemy in following Preset Chalice Dungeons it is not located there; guide's list: Ailing Loran, Lower Loran, Pthumeru Ihyll. All enemies and bosses (except hunter enemies) have 999 frenzy resistance, despite that they are still vulnerable to such status. The only way to see it without modding is to use Shaman Bone Blade on enemy inflicting frenzy to attack others. [test video] Summoned (red) version (white clothes) gives 19 Blood Echoes (base) and no drops. Red and purple aura versions drop random gem [4%]. Labyrinth Watchers in group will always have member who will point at you and call for reinforcements. It can be any variant of Labyrinth Watcher. Such groups only appear in a few room types. Note that „pointer“ will repeat his pointing animation every single time he aggros. [video]

Pungent Blood Cocktails don't attract this enemy, making the item ineffective. Shaman Bone Blades affect this enemy, making it hostile to other enemies. Watchers will call other enemies to their location.

Multiplier A represents depth (1 - 5) of the chalice dungeon; multiplier B is layer (1 - 4) of the specific chalice dungeon; multiplier C is used when dungeon is Pthumeru Ihyll; multiplier D is for calculating blood echoes when additional curse rite is used.
